GALLERY NEWS:
We should have Jessica Wilson's workshop description posted on the events page soon. Stay tuned.
L and I Arts ( Downtown) has some Harry Benjamin's for sale.
The pieces came from the former owner, Irene Denae, of the Continental Divide Gallery that was active in the 1980's in Silver City.
Diana also received with the paintings and pottery, handbills and advertisements for shows she had at the time.
The handbills are posted in the gallery - a piece of Silver City's art history. Worth a visit.

BARN NEWS:
All is well.
The pheasants are enjoying the cool weather.
The horses are fuzzy with wonderful thick coats. They look like plush stuffed toys.
THE MUI REPORT:
Mui Mui is taking the concept of winter insulation in a very serious manner.
He is eating tons. His tail is much fluffier and his girth too.
He has a new nemesis or friend (hard to tell), a tufted-eared squirrel. Not only does the tufted-eared squirrel (also known as the Abert's tassel-eared squirrel) live on the roof near the Emory Room (Mui's favorite), he chatters and throws pine cone debris at him.
Mui, we think, likes the attention. It is very fun to watch the interactions and the chatter.

WINDMILL REPORT:
Mid-December, the blades for the windmill will be added to the tower.
Students at Aldo Leopold School are painting the blades and tail now.
Very very exciting.
January - the pipe goes to the pond. We will have a public event to update everyone on the project, January 25th at 4:00 here at the Lodge.

WORDS OF THE MONTH:
I was driving on Cottage San, the light playing on the fall colored cottonwood leaves was amazing. The leaves were dancing in the sunlight..
I thought there must be a word for it. In English, we call it dappled and, of course, I think of horses whose coats have light bouncing off the light and dark spots of their coats.
But in Japanese, the word is komorebi, meaning "sunlight leaking through the trees".
I do think much more fitting.
I did find the psithurism, the sound of leaves rustling in the wind.
I am happy we have a word for that lovely sound.
Being a biophilic, a person with a tendency to associate with nature and animals,
These words made me happy.

LOOKING TO THE NEW YEAR:
We hope to see you soon.
