GALLERY NEWS:
The Gallery has acquired two Peter Hurd's lithographs for sale. They were purchased 30 years ago from a gallery in Lubbock. The titles are "Home for Supper"54/100 and "Before Sun up"58/100. We can send you pictures of them. They are very nice. A bit of New Mexico history.
BARN NEWS:
Mui Mui is fine. He has been stalking John in the chicken coop. It is funny to see him laying under the hay feeders and thinking no one sees him. The cows are ready for the new grass. Cedric keeps jumping the fence. Fernando thinks that's way to much wasted energy. He and girls then start mooing, so someone will open the gate to let Cedric back in the pasture. Charlsie Mae is still a bit of a handful, but her coming back (recall) is pretty good. She has had dog company from Oregon for a few weeks. Fern, a Lab mix, and Charlsie Mae are definitely buddies. Lots of running and playing...and sleeping. A dog's life.
WORD (PHRASE) OF THE MONTH:
One of the historical names for the month of March has been Saxon Lentmonat after the March equinox and gradual lengthening of the days and the eventual name of Lent. Who doesn't love longer days. Looking forward to a beautiful Spring.

Pixie and Z are ready for spring. They are starting to lose their winter coats and are being frisky running around the pasture. The first leaves of the Fall's planting of daffodils and crocuses are just starting to come up. It will be interesting to see what the deer thinks tastes best. Sassy, the deer who jumps into the chicken coop also visits other neighbors. I was visiting with friend and she said I hear you have my deer. We do- she is the one with the helicopter ears- I didn't know she was so infamous and everyone has a different name for her.It is like a cat who has many homes.
This plate is from the 1928 edition New Mexico Birds. I bought it for John's Christmas present and discovered a big bonus. The book was funded by the McCrearys of Silver City . Just made a great book even better.
