Driving Directions to the Lodge
Bear Mountain Lodge in beautiful southwestern New Mexico is only 3 miles north of historic Silver City, at an elevation of 6,250ft.

From TUCSON, AZ
Take I-10 East to Lordsburg, exit at the last exit, turn left to feeder lane toward Hwy 90 to Silver City. Take right onto Hwy 90 and continue 45 miles to Silver City. Continue on Hwy 180 west to Alabama Street. Turn right, and Alabama Street becomes Cottage San Road. Travel north 2.8 miles until you see the Bear Mountain Lodge sign on your left. Turn left on the dirt road and follow it to the Lodge.
From PHOENIX, AZ
Take I-10 through Tucson to Silver City. Or, (265 miles; 5 hrs) take the scenic route from MESA, take Hwy 70 and continue through Globe, Safford and Duncan. Turn left onto Hwy 90 and continue north 45 miles to Silver City. Continue on Hwy 180 west to Alabama Street. Turn right, and Alabama Street becomes Cottage San Road. Travel north 2.8 miles until you see the Bear Mountain Lodge sign on your left. Turn left on the dirt road and follow it to the Lodge.
From ALBUQUERQUE, NM
Take 1-25 south. 15 miles past Truth or Consequences exit and turn right (west) on NM 152, a winding mountain road with spectacular views. NM 152 travels over the Black Range and eventually intersects US 180. Merge right onto US 180 and continue into Silver City. In Silver City, stay on US 180, which turns right at Sun Valley Hardware and the Sonic Drive-In. At Alabama Street turn right. Alabama Street becomes Cottage San Road. Travel north 2.8 miles until you see the Bear Mountain Lodge sign on your left. Turn left on the dirt road and follow it to the Lodge.
NOTE: Winter driving on NM 152 can be hazardous. Call the NM Road Advisory Hotline at 1-800-432-4269 for conditions. If in doubt, we suggest the alternate route through Hatch, NM.
From ALBUQUERQUE via HATCH, NM
Take 1-25 south to Hatch, NM. Exit onto NM 26 and travel southwest towards Deming. A few miles north of Deming, NM 26 intersects US 180. Turn right on US 180 and continue to Silver City. In Silver City, stay on US 180, which turns right at Sun Valley Hardware and the Sonic Drive-In. At Alabama Street turn right. Alabama Street becomes Cottage San Road. Travel north 2.8 miles until you see the Bear Mountain Lodge sign on your left. Turn left on the dirt road and follow it to the Lodge.
From LAS CRUCES, NM
Take I-10 west to Deming, NM. Exit to US 180 and follow it north into Silver City. In Silver City, stay on US 180, which turns right at Sun Valley Hardware and the Sonic Drive-In. At Alabama Street turn right. Alabama Street becomes Cottage San Road. Travel north 2.8 miles until you see the Bear Mountain Lodge sign on your left. Turn left on the dirt road and follow it to the Lodge. From Tucson, AZ Take I-10 east to Lordsburg, NM. Exit to NM 90 and follow it north to Silver City. In Silver City, NM 90 becomes Hudson Street. Drive north on Hudson Street and turn left onto US 180 at Blake’s Lota Burger (14th Street). At Alabama Street turn right. Alabama Street becomes Cottage San Road. Travel north 2.8 miles until you see the Bear Mountain Lodge sign on your left. Turn left on the dirt road and follow it to the Lodge.
